1. Argentina: Officially Announced, Launching Q4 2026

After what Jeremy calls "a real telenovela", Economy Minister Luis Caputo announced on October 2, 2026 that Argentina's citizenship by investment program will launch in Q4 2026.

It will be the first of its kind in South America.

There are two routes: a non-refundable Treasury contribution from US$350,000, or a US$800,000 government bond.

A spouse or adult child adds US$100,000 and each minor US$25,000, so a family of four pays US$500,000 on the Treasury route.

In return you get: 140 visa-free countries, US E-2 treaty access and Mercosur membership.

There's also a seven year bond option at $800,000 ($950,000 for a family) but since that bond apparently pays no interest, it's likely to receive no investor interest either.

While these figures come from ministerial sources, they haven't been officially published yet. It's also worth pointing out that this program still has some legal hurdles to clear before reaching the finish line.

Still, that hasn't dampened enthusiasm, with most of the demand right now coming from the US. Of the four programs mentioned here, Argentina is the closest to going live so register your interest now and we'll start your file the moment it opens.

Likelihood: officially announced; regulations still pending.

2. St Vincent And The Grenadines: Confirmed, Details Pending

The government confirmed its first citizenship by investment program after the New Democratic Party's election win in November 2025, and launch is expected in late 2026.

The money raised will go into a legislatively protected St Vincent and the Grenadines Investment Fund (SVGIF), ring-fenced for national development and climate resilience.

Unlike similar programs applicants will have to meet a mandatory residency requirement, though how long and when hasn't been published.

Same goes for the investment amounts, routes, processing times or family rules.

That said, a new Caribbean CBI is certain to generate a lot of interest, so we set up a page where you can register your interest.

Likelihood: government-confirmed; legislation not yet enacted.

3. Botswana: An Affordable Impact Citizenship Program

Botswana is preparing an Impact Citizenship Program, with investments directed into projects that support national development.

The proposed entry point is US$75,000 to US$90,000, which would make it one of the world's most affordable citizenship by investment programs. Processing is expected to take around two months, with no residency requirement and a limited annual quota.

For this, you get a passport with access to around 85 destinations visa-free, on arrival or by eTA, including Hong Kong and Singapore, from one of Africa's most stable and well-governed countries.

Dual citizenship and family applications are expected to be allowed.

The catch: the program still needs legislative approval, and government fees, family rules and due diligence procedures are unpublished. Treat the numbers as tentative for now.

Likelihood: detailed proposals but legislation still pending – looks unlikely to arrive in 2026.

4. Seychelles: Watch This Space

The Seychelles is an English-speaking Indian Ocean nation of around 127,000 people, its CBI program is something we're keeping an eye on, but there's little detail as yet.

The program was slated to launch in late 2026, but still hasn't entered into legal force. At the time of writing no details have been published: no price, no routes, no timeline.

Likelihood: anticipated, but with no published details.
